Honda is bringing back the Passport as a “rugged” midsize SUV to slot between the CRV and Pilot

I saw this the other day myself. Doesn’t look too rugged. Reminds me of the Nissan Pathfinder which has transformed from a truck to a minivan.

Ok, now this might be the perfect size for me. Hopefully it looks better than the current P ilot and MDX.

The only rugged honda’s aren’t highway legal.

This is a trigger for me. The CR-V has grown a lot and the Pilot is basically the same as it’s been. There is absolutely no reason for this. There’s no room between the two anymore. 10 years ago, maybe.
Unless it’s a modern Isuzu, preferably a rebooted Trooper. Then I’m on board.

Well they're touting it as a direct competitor to the 4Runner so I guess we will see

Sure, but their “ direct competitor” to the Tacoma is the ridgeline.
Heck even the pioneer 1000 is the nallys chili of the utv world.
Honda doesn’t really “ get” the American off road market

I like that it drops the 3rd row I would never use, and ups the towing capacity over the CR-V and RDX. If the RDX could town 3500lbs I would have bought the new one, but some how 272hp and 280tq just can’t handle it (meanwhile a Rav4 hybrid can town 1750).
